Maryam Zaraimajin is Canadian- Persian artist. She migrated to Toronto in 2003, where she later completed her BFA studies with a major in Sculpture and Installation from Ocad University in 2018. In her works, she has used different medium to express her thoughts. She works mainly in metal shaping, ceramics, mould-making, material casting and printmaking. Exploring diverse concepts through working with different materials helps her create artworks about social justice, freedom of speech, and women’s rights. Her 'Survival of Who?' piece received the Greenrock Trust Award at the 22nd Juried Graduating Sculpture Student Exhibition, from the Sculpture Society of Canada in 2018. She was also the winner (with Suzanne Simoni) of the Rooftop Art Project sponsored by Friends of Pan Am.
